Ten things you didn’t know about me and vanilla:
10. I’ve always and forever bought imitation vanilla extract.
9. I stare at those pretty dark brown bottles of real vanilla with longing.
8. I am horrible at spending money *cue Husband’s cheering* so I always buy the cheapest of everything (including vanilla).
7. My mom baked with imitation vanilla extract and I still had a happy childhood.
6. I recently bought real vanilla extract at my grocery store and I was giddy with anticipation. I hated it.
5. I baked 3 things with the grocery store vanilla before I gave up and threw it away.
4. I contacted Wild Bean Vanilla Company and confessed my imitation vanilla extract sins and my real vanilla extract dislike and asked if there is a 12 step program for real vanilla extract drop outs.
3. The people at Wild Bean Vanilla promised to convert me and said that the problem is that grocery store vanilla is aged for 2 weeks, while hand crafted vanilla is aged for 2 months.
2. I have been baking with their Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Extract all week…and I LOVE it! Sweet success! My buttercream just got even more awesome. Oh yeah.

I converted from imitation to regular vanilla extract years ago, but it is still the grocery store version. Haven't had the fancy kind. *batting eyelashes*
I admit to be a vanilla extract and vanilla bean addict – and I don't want a 12 step program!!! I've had homemade vanilla extract "going" in the same bottle for years…I just add more alcohol and more beans whenever I think it needs to be done. I love vanilla beans, vanilla bean paste, and vanilla extract. I search ingredients to make sure there is nothing in there but alcohol and vanilla beans. I'm ecstatic to find a company like Wild Bean…just the type I like to support. I'd love to win, but I'm a winner already because I have a new source for quality vanilla!

I would sooo love to win this! A friend brought me back a bottle of Mexican Vanilla from a trip to Mexico and I am hooked on real vanilla!
With the cost of everyday, We have to "Make=do" with what we have . I'm sure this Vanilla would make a difference….

Good quality vanilla makes a big difference . I've used off brand vanilla in the past which eneded with the dessert being thrown out.
