Norton Identity Safe Works For Me {and Android Tablet Giveaway}
As a blogger you are given the chance to review loads and loads of products. As I’ve said before it’s important to me for you *my lovely, super-awesome readers* not to feel like everything is a big commercial here so I only accept things that I can truly get behind and that I feel you would like to know about too. Enter Norton Identity Safe.
Since I began blogging my home computer has become my home office. And things have gotten crazy up in here! Usernames and passwords have reproduced like rabbits! Let’s take a quick look.
Pre-blog:
- Bank
- Amazon
- Netflix (which I always and forever forget when I need it)
Nowadays: {In addition to above}
- Blog Email
- Gmail
- Klout
- StumbleUpon
- HootSuite
- Google+
- Foodgawker
- Tastespotting
- Tasteologie
- Dessert Stalking
- PayPal
Look familiar? Honestly I know I’m missing a few…but those are the regular offenders. I am on the lazy side and I usually stick close to the same password with small variations but even that gets me in trouble sometimes. In the beginning weeks of In Katrina’s Kitchen I used my personal email account. BAD decision. If you are going to start a blog please just take the extra 10 minutes to create a separate email account to handle all of your correspondence from. Trust me. I have since gone in and changed almost every login to use my blog information but there are some platforms that can’t be changed. So invariably I spend 5 minutes trying to figure out if my username is my personal email or name, my blog email or name, and what variation of password is required here (numbers and letters? Must use a symbol? Must use a capital letter?). It’s maddening and I often lock myself out of the site- true story.
Needless to say I have really loved using Norton Identity Safe. It has helped me manage my passwords and even credit card information. It helps you fill out forms and credit card information, and it will tell you if a website looks fraudulent. I personally love that it has an app that you can download for your smartphone or tablet so you can truly shop anywhere you want anytime you want and not have to go digging into your purse for your wallet. Can a sister get an amen?! Once you enter your information it locks it away into an online vault. I kind of really like that word vault, don’t you? Much safer than having a document on your computer entitled “passwords.” Ahem.
So, let’s review: Norton Identity Safe is a password manager! Hooray! I installed it in 5 minutes…all by my pretty little self! Hooray! Available for Mac and PC users! Hooray! It’s FREE for you to download, so go give it a test drive! Hooray!
Speaking of free things- Leave a comment on this post sharing a story about a time you forgot or lost a password and you’ll have a chance to win one of five Android Tablets (Samsung Galaxy Tab 2- 10.1-Inch, Wi-Fi) with Norton Mobile Security and Identity Safe installed!!

I've been locked out while traveling on business and it's next to impossible to get back until you go back home. I've been stuck in a long line of coffee once which was not fun!

There are some passwords that I forget on a regular basis. You know, the ones that require a capital letter, number, 10 or more characters and a symbol. Who can be expected to remember those? So I get locked out regularly.

I've been lucky since a friend told me about Roboform about 10 years ago. It's been keeping my login and passwords safe and handy for that long. It also generates passwords for new sites.
Thanks for the contest.
I've forgotten passwords and then I've even forgotten my email password, making it way difficult to reset any of them without email.

The most inconvenient time I forgot my password was actually at an ATM machine when I really needed cash! Needless to say, I changed it as soon as I could to something I could easily remember!

Honestly, I have forgotten a specific instance, but I'm so thankful for "Forgot password?" because without that, I'd be in trouble 😉

I always used Roboform (a password/form filler) so when I lost my computer and got a new one a few years back. When I went to enter all my usual sites, I found that there were a couple that I had not saved the passwords for and on top of that, they were older sites I had visited for years and used a totally different email address for as well, I was never able to get back into one of those sites. Even with reregistering I could not get in because all the rest of my info was the same so it insisted I was already registered.
I rarely forget my password, but I do often forget the security question answers because I do not want them to be “easy”. The biggest mistake people make is making their password security questions answers similar to stuff they post online social networking sites.
i never forget passwords
I locked myself out of my bank account on a friday and couldnt get it fixed until Monday. I have never had such a long weekend.

I am always forgetting my password, especially to PalPal. I try to use the same passwords (a no no I know) but some sites have crazy rules that just confuse me. I once tried to log into my hubby’s work sits ( I have his permission) and got him locked out…not good!
I forget them and have to call IT support so I just write them down now.
This isn't my story, but I was just talking to my mom about it last night. My grandfather passed away a month ago, and since then my grandmother has locked herself out of her online bank account no less than 10 times (he used to pay the bills and now she has to do it). Each time she locks herself out, she has to call the bank helpline to unlock her, and it takes them an hour to walk her through resetting it. It's crazy.

I always forget my passwords–my email is filled with "send password" and "reset password" requests. My worst experience was when I was trying to buy a pair of shoes that were on sale. By the time I got my password email, they were sold out in my size! Very upsetting!
