Graham cracker crust, vanilla Greek yogurt, and cherries- a simple Breakfast Cream Pie Recipe my whole family LOVES

Breakfast is seriously THE WORST in the summertime. My kids haven’t learned the life skill of sleeping in during the summer months yet. So while summer break from school is in theory a super idea I am reminded over and over again at 6:00 AM that it is not really that amazing.

Breakfast Cream Pie Recipe couldn't be easier and my kids love choosing their own fruit toppings

My kids are old enough to wake up and get their day started independently.

If I’m okay with milk and cereal strewn about my kitchen (and let’s be real here- the whole house) like it’s a crime scene.

Sometimes I am okay with that.

Set out a fruit tray for breakfast and let kids customize their yogurt- my kids LOVE selecting their own!

A much better option is when I have a plate of colorful fruit cut up and ready for them in the morning. It’s like a rainbow is waiting for them when they open the refrigerator. I also make sure to have lots of yogurt on hand. For the last day of school I thought it might be fun to surprise my kids with “pie” for breakfast.

Breakfast couldn't be easier with these simple Breakfast Cream Pies. Easy recipe and fun!

They went crazy of course, and they didn’t even mind that it was a healthy breakfast packed with all the fruit and Greek yogurt they wanted. Of course as soon as I was done snapping a few pictures they started an all out WAR to see who could jam in the most fruit into their yogurt cup.

As you know, I love working with the American Dairy Association Mideast, and I’m so excited that June is National Dairy Month. I love finding creative ways for our family to get their 3 servings of dairy in each day. We threw in some homemade granola and made a simple meal that was ridiculously fun to prepare and eat. What kid (or adult for that matter) would refuse pie for breakfast?

Personally, I love this idea to serve breakfast or brunch to a crowd. The flavor possibilities really are endless!

Orange is popular in our house too. Of course we call it Orange Creamsicle around the kids. Side note: it’s a miracle my kids have not turned into an orange by now with all of the oranges they consume!
