Chocolate Covered Spider Apples
Yield: 4 apples
Chocolate-dipped apples dressed up up as spiders for a spooky, silly treat
- 4 apples
- 4 sticks
- 1 lb bag of black chocolate discs
- 1 Tablespoon Crisco or vegetable oil optional
- Candy eyeballs
- Tube frosting
- Spider leg cupcake holders
Microwave chocolate in 30-60 second intervals until melted. Be careful not to overheat. Add up to 1 Tablespoon Crisco or vegetable oil to thin the chocolate and make for smooth dipping.
Poke your apple with a stick (deep, but not through to the other side).
Dip apples into chocolate taking care to shake or swirl off the excess. Place on parchment paper to dry.
After about 5 minutes attach candy eyeballs. Let dry completely.
When cooled completely pipe on a frosting smile.
Place on spider leg cupcake holders.
