Nutella Oatmeal Bread with Brown Sugar Honey Glaze Recipe

Classic oatmeal bread with Nutella and honey

Ingredients
  

  • For the Bread:
  • 1 Cup quick oats
  • 1/2 Cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 Cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon salt
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 Cup Nutella
  • 1 Cups boiling water
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons yeast 1 packet
  • 1/2 Cup warm water
  • 5 Cups flour
  • For the Glaze:
  • 2 Tablespoons butter melted
  • 2 Tablespoons honey
  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • Oats optional, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl pour boiling water over oats, whole wheat flour, brown sugar, salt, and butter, and Nutella. Stir until combined. Let cool to lukewarm.
  • While batter is cooling combine yeast with warm water and let sit for 5 minutes. Combine with batter.
  • Stir in flour 1/2 cup at a time until the dough is stiff enough to turn out to a floured work surface. Continue to knead in remaining flour for 5-10 minutes.
  • Place in a greased bowl and let rise 1 hour until doubled.
  • Punch dough down and let rise again (about 30 minutes).
  • Preheat oven to 350. Shape into 2 loaves and place in greased loaf pans.
  • Prepare glaze. Slice loaves and pour glaze over top. Garnish with more oats if desired.
  • Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes.
