Chewy Vanilla Chip Molasses Cookies

- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated white sugar
- 1/3 cup molasses
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 3 cups flour
- 1 1/2 cups white chocolate or vanilla chips
Preheat oven to 350° F. Cream butter, shortening, and both sugars together in a medium mixing bowl.
Add molasses and egg and mix well. Stir in baking soda, salt, and spices.
Add flour one cup at a time, stirring until combined.
Add the white chocolate or vanilla chips last, mixing by hand.
Drop the cookie dough by rounded spoonful onto a well greased baking sheet.
Bake at 350° F for 8-10 minutes.
