Made a double batch of these for the Christmas season and am a disappointed in the outcome. They are very crumbly and not the 7 layer bars I know and love. I have two recommendations. First, melt the butter and mix in the graham cracker crumbs in a separate bowl then spread in the bottom of the pan. Second, pour the sweetened condensed milk over the top, rather than immediately over the graham cracker layer. I did freeze them as another comment suggested so hopefully they will firm up and be ok.

I agree. I put them in the fridge over night and now they're solid. It was a mess of crumbs and they were falling apart. Did not look like the picture. I'll have to watch the ingredients too next time I think the flakes can just be 1cup.

I made these this weekend for christmas (found on pinterest) and they are delicious I followed the recipe to a T - but found they were very crumbly when I tried to cut them after allowing to cool for over 2 hours. Once I cut them, I had over half the graham cracker crumbles on the bottom of the pan. I put the cut up bars in a container and stored them in the cool basement (no heat down there) and sure enough, they are nice & solid now. I think maybe next time, I will put the pan in the freezer for maybe 30 mins once I think they are cooled on the counter even! Seems the cooler they are, the better they stick together! Just MY observation and wanted to pass it on! :)

I loved this recipe and made it today. But something went wrong for me! The M&M didn't stay on the top like yours did. Pooh! I'll try again but any ideas? Are you supposed to 'tap' them down first?
