Biscoff and Nutella Magic Shell

Biscoff and Nutella Magic Shell Ice Cream Topping *Two Ingredients* @katrinaskitchen

Homemade Magic Shell ice cream topping is one of those things that make you feel like a superhero. My kids are always so floored by this pourable topping that freezes instantly. They look at me with wonder in their eyes and for a moment I am Mom of the Year. Then I tell them they can only have one serving and my crown has been revoked and I’m back to Most Boring Mom Ever.

Biscoff and Nutella Magic Shell Ice Cream Topping *Two Ingredients* @katrinaskitchen

The only redeeming factor I had going for me was that I was taking these pictures at the same time that I was also shooting the Nutella Fudgesicles. It was about 11,000 degrees in our house and everything melted pretty much instantly when taken out of the freezer.

We ate a lot of ice cream that afternoon.

Biscoff and Nutella Magic Shell Recipe

PrintPrint SaveSave

Yield: 1/2 cup

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 5 minutes

Homemade magic shell topping that hardens instantly when poured over ice cream

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Cup Biscoff or Nutella
  • 2-3 Tablespoons Coconut Oil

Directions:

  1. Combine coconut oil and Biscoff (or Nutella) in a small bowl and stir until smooth.
  2. Pour over ice cream.

Notes:

  • The more coconut oil you use the faster the topping will harden.
  • I did not have to heat this up but it was warm in my house. Coconut oil will turn to liquid by the warmth of your hands, or you can heat it for a few seconds in the microwave.

Well, I think you're mom of the year for taking the time to make these for the kiddos and then sharing the recipe with us! I can't wait to make a batch for Dudette so I can carry the title and crown (for a minute).

First, I just discovered this weekend how much I LOOOOOVE biscoff spread. It's amazing, I'm in love, I could go on like this for a long time ;) Second, love the use of coconut oil instead of some kind of waxy stuff that's in most commercially made shells. Love this and I'm sure it's very tasty :)

Does this leave a coconut flavor in the nutella?

    • Katrina Bahl — May 14th, 2013 @ 9:35 am

It wasn’t very strong. The less coconut oil you use the longer it will take to harden. If the taste bothers you feel free to add more Nutella.
