Virtual Surprise Book Release Party for Sugarlicious!

Comments

Today is a special day for our friend Meaghan who blogs at The Decorated Cookie. She has been working hard and today her book Sugarlicious is released! When I think of Meaghan I think of marshmallows. She does amazing, artistic things with all kinds of sugar but she will forever be my go-to marshmallow girl. So when I was invited to celebrate with her today and throw her a surprise book release party I knew I wanted to do something with marshmallows. Deciding just what to do proved to be difficult.

First I bought these. Insanely cute but not for today.

Then I made my husband find these for me. Nope. Not this time.

Should I just put them on a stick?

Yes. A stick. That's what Meaghan would do. Maybe something classic? S'mores.

Yes. Chocolate and marshmallows = win!

But what is the fun in a surprise party

without a little

SURPRISE!?!

Were you surprised? I hope so! Yes, after purchasing every marshmallow product in the tri-state area, I finally decided on Marshmallow Cake Pops. And of course they had to be pink for Meaghan! Aren't they sugarlicious?!

I used a basic white cake mix and colored it pink. If I hadn't spent so much money on every single form of marshmallow there is I would have bought a strawberry cake mix but I already had a white cake on hand. Cake pops are pretty straightforward. Bake your cake and let it cool completely (overnight, uncovered is best). I made mine in a 9x13 pan and used about half of the pan to make the cake pops. {The other half magically disappeared.}

Instead of traditional frosting I used 2 heaping Tablespoons of MARSHMALLOW FLUFF to bring these babies to cake pop consistency. Y-U-M. Form into marshmallow shapes and dip into chocolate. Sticks or no sticks these are still a fun surprise.

Stop by The Decorated Cookie today and tell Meaghan congratulations. She worked really hard on this book and I know you will love every page. I'll be ordering mine today for sure!
Be sure to check out the other blogs celebrating the release of Sugarlicious today too!
